West Columbus School needed a solution that would block the harsh light without sacrificing the modern aesthetic of their brand-new facility.
The Solution: Translucent Vinyl with a Warrior Spirit
We selected translucent vinyl to address the issue. This material diffuses sunlight, reducing glare while still allowing natural light to filter through. To make the most of the sunlight, we turned it into a backlight for vibrant graphics that celebrate the Warriors’ school spirit.
The design features bold imagery inspired by the school mascot, reinforcing the gym’s identity as the home of the West Columbus Warriors.
Our Process: Precision Printing and Lamination
To create a flawless result, we:
- Printed the design using our Mimaki JV100-160 ecosolvent printer, which delivers crisp, high-resolution graphics.
- Overprinted the ink to ensure the colors would remain vibrant and true even when backlit by the sunlight.
- Applied a protective laminate to enhance durability and prevent fading over time.
The installation was completed with precision to ensure perfect alignment and seamless coverage of the gym windows.
