At Mr. Postman Print Shop, we believe in creating unique and meaningful pieces that bring history and creativity together. During the Summer of 2023, we hosted a special social media contest to give away a stunning Declaration of Independence replica printed on clear acrylic—a perfect way to celebrate the spirit of freedom and independence.
A Unique Piece of Art
The replica was crafted with care and precision. Using 1/4″ clear acrylic, we laser cut the material for a polished, professional finish. The design was printed in reverse on the bottom side of the acrylic using our Mimaki JFX200 UV flatbed printer. This reverse printing technique not only added depth and dimension but also protected the print, ensuring its durability. A white ink backer was applied to make the text and intricate details stand out, while standoffs in each corner provided an elegant, modern mounting solution.
The Contest and the Winner
Our social media followers had the opportunity to participate in this exciting giveaway by engaging with our post and sharing why they wanted to own this one-of-a-kind piece. The response was incredible, with participants sharing heartfelt and patriotic stories. After much anticipation, we were thrilled to announce Sandra Sellers as the lucky winner of this beautiful replica. Sandra was overjoyed to receive this unique piece of art, which now hangs proudly in her home.
Why Acrylic?
Acrylic was the perfect choice for this project because of its clarity and versatility. The transparent material gave the replica a sleek and modern look, while the reverse printing ensured it would remain vibrant and resistant to wear over time.
